RESPONSIBILITIES
Initially the team in China will be do customer support, maintenance, and releases of Java products OpenVMS Itanium.  This includes the following activities:
• Interact with customers (via HP support) and ISVs to analyze and resolve customer issues
• Design and implement code modifications to fix defects in the Java VM and APIs
• Create and test patch kits for customers
• Incorporate changes from new Sun maintenance code drops into the code base and make necessary changes to the implementation to pass conformance tests
• Do update releases for VMS/HPUX (includes code fixes, documentation, testing and quality assurance)
 
The team will also port the Java APIs and tools for new Java version to OpenVMS/HPUX and will assist with HotSpot development and maintenance for OpenVMS Itanium & HPUX Itanium.

Qualifications:
Join HP’s Java implementation group and participate as a member of engineering team responsible for Java SE releases on OpenVMS/HPUX and for diagnosing and fixing problems reported by customers. This position requires someone who can develop a high level of technical expertise with the Java VM implementation and technology and/or who is skilled in analyzing and resolving difficult problems encountered by customers.

• Significant C programming experience
• Significant C++ programming experience
